Do you believe this?

Not if the scripture is the basis of my belief. Just as others post listing various sources, so must I post mine.

Good post. The Bible is the Word of the living God which He breathed through His prophets and Apostles. It carries authority over every man regardless whether he tries to suppress it's truth or not.

If y'all say so...I get tired of debating folks who use as their only proof a book that has had books purged, been edited, revised, written and re-written for thousands of years...so i'll leave it to y'all to debate amongst yourselves.

It's all about faith, and I guess that's something you just don't understand. I pray that you do, because this world is soon to end as we know it, and the debates will come to an end.
It will be "a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God." Yes, I've been hearing about the return of Christ all my life, and am just now understanding enough about the Word and the world to actually be looking up in expectation of seeing Him coming in clouds of Glory.

As i have read your statements and the statements of others I can see both sides. But my only question to you is this: Do you not believe in the Bible?

I believe in the premise behind the bible..but i do not believe it word for word.

I am a christian, but I will say this only in defense of sup-rbeast's statement on the bibble....One should really study the bibble's origin and roots before he chooses one, the King James version, often the most popular, is probably the worst one you can read as far as getting your facts straight, and reading it the exact way it was meant to be read....It was written by a Ruler, who basically had it interprited to his likings...There is even one place in the King James that references Jesus carrying, and using a coin that didn't exist until several hundred years later...Just food for thought, I believe the Bibble word for word, in it's original content...

Right there's the key part that you won't get most people to understand about what you're belief is regarding the Bible. I agree w/you though.

What I believe in more than the Bible is prayer, because you can either read what God said and what transpired in the past, or you can speak to God directly and get what's supposed to be what straight from the source.

I think more time should be spent by Christians in prayer than reading the Bible. It's more trustworthy in my opinion because it's not filtered through another human mind--it's God and you having a direct convo.

That is their belief on it though.I do not think they were trying to convince anyone, they were just stating their opinion on it. I believe prayer is very important also. I also believe that reading the Word Of God is equally important because that is how faith comes, by hearing and hearing the Word of God, which in turn can give us the faith to pray to God. Just a thought.
